A short walkthrough of your first invoice, answers to the questions people actually ask, and one address for everything else.
Your first invoice.
The same order the product itself walks you through after you sign up — nothing here skips a step or adds one that is not really there.
Create an account through /login. It offers whatever sign-in methods this deployment has turned on — often a Google account — and lands you in the same product either way.
Create your organization
Name the workspace your invoices, clients and letterheads live in. It only asks for a name: language, currency and time zone take sensible defaults and wait for you on the settings page.
Add your details
The block every invoice prints at the top — your business name and address, and a tax label and number if you have one. Bank details are optional here; leave them out and add an account later, under Companies, whenever you are ready to be paid.
Write your first invoice
Saving your details opens the invoice editor directly. Pick or add a client, add line items, and choose a letterhead from the library on /invoice-styles.
Get a PDF
Download PDF turns the invoice into a file you can send. If that is briefly unavailable, your browser's own Print / Save PDF produces the same A4 document straight from the page.
Questions.
How does invoice numbering work?
Set a template — for example "INV-{date}-{nnn}" — on the settings page, or for a contractor's own numbers, on their profile. "{date}" is today's date and "{n}", "{nn}", "{nnn}" is a counter, read from the numbers you have already issued rather than kept in a stored count, so a save that fails never burns a number. The offered number stays editable on the invoice itself either way, and two invoices in one organization can never share a number.
How do I change the letterhead an invoice uses?
Pick your default on /invoice-styles — that is where every new invoice starts. The letterhead is written into an invoice the moment you issue it, so changing your default afterwards never touches anything you already sent.
How do I get a PDF, or print an invoice?
Open the invoice and use Download PDF. If that is briefly unavailable, your browser's own Print / Save PDF renders the same A4 document directly from the page — the templates are real print documents with millimetre geometry, not a web page that happens to print.
How do I change my organization's name, currency, time zone or invoice-number template?
Name, the workspace handle that page itself labels "Address" (it is a URL slug, not a postal one), interface language, default currency, time zone and the invoice-number template all live on the settings page, reachable to your organization's owner and any admins. The postal address printed on your invoices is a different field — it is edited under Companies, where you first entered it.
If I edit a client or my company details, do invoices I already sent change?
No. An invoice is stored as a snapshot of everything it needed at the moment you issued it — the client's address, your requisites, the letterhead. Editing any of those afterwards changes what the next invoice looks like, and never rewrites one that already went out.
